The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, handed over his credentials to the King Willem-Alexander

On November 28, Mr. Tigran Balayan, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, handed over his credentials to the King Willem-Alexander at the Noordeinde Palace in The Hague.

The ceremony has started in the Armenian Embassy from where, being accompanied by the representative of the King of the Netherlands, the Ambassador of Armenia left for the Noordeinde Palace by the royal carriage. After the performance of the Armenian national anthem by the military orchestra, the Ambassador passed in front of the honor guards and received the report of the guards’ commander.

The ceremonial part of the reception was preceded by a brief discussion between His Majesty the King and the Ambassador. The MFA Secretary General Yoka Brandt and head of the court, Ambassador Jan Versteeg were also present at the discussion.

At the meeting Ambassador Balayan presented to the Dutch King the current inner political developments in Armenia, the steps undertaken by the government for strengthening the democracy and state institutions. The Ambassador also informed King Willem-Alexander about the undertaken steps towards the development of the Armenian-Dutch relations.

The King of the Netherlands welcomed the projects of the Ambassador for the development of bilateral cooperation and wished luck during his mission.

The same day on the occasion of the handing of credentials, a reception took place in the Embassy of Armenia, where high-ranking officials of the MFA of the Netherlands, representatives of Dutch state, cultural and business circles, members of the Armenian community structures were present.

Thanking the guests for accepting the Embassy’s invitation, Ambassador Balayan underlined that he is expecting their support for the implementation of the Embassy’s initiatives in order to deepen the cooperation between Armenia and the Netherlands.
