Remarks by Ambassador Tigran Balayan, at the reception on the occasion of presentation of credentials to His Majesty the King of the Netherlands

Excellencies,
Սիրելի հայրենակիցներ,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Distinguished guests,
Geachte gasten,

Welcome to the Embassy of Armenia!

On behalf of my family and the Embassy staff I thank you for your presence here at this reception.

This solemn day is emotional, responsible and at the same time kind of a summary for me, as for an every single career diplomat Ambassadorial nomination is a dream, that we bear in mind since student years. It is an utmost responsibility and honour to be an Ambassador of new Armenia, with its values and ambitions.

The ceremony of presentation of credentials to His Majesty the King, was very impressive and majestic in accordance with centuries old customs and traditions. I am grateful to the Royal court and Foreign Ministry’s Protocol Department for the honouring my country and its Ambassador.

Today is exactly a month since my arrival to the Hague. During this period I have a chance to them my ideas and projects, which were welcomed and supported. I am confident that with joint efforts we will be able to implement many ambitious initiatives and I allow myself to ask for your support in new endeavors, aimed at the expansion of Armenian-Dutch cooperation and development of my Homeland.

I wish that after certain period of time we can proudly summarise our deeds and plan new ones. I am at your disposal for the most unbelievable and revolutionary ideas.

Dear guests, once again thanks for your presence on this joyful occasion. With your permission I would to say couple of words to my compatriots in Armenian.

Սիրելի հայրենակիցներ,

Ուրախ եմ ձեզ հյուրընկալել Հայաստանի դեսպանատանը, որը պետք է լինի ձեր երկրորդ տունը Նիդերլանդներում։ Ես և իմ թիմը բոլոր ջանքերը գործադրելու ենք, որ ձեր մեջ արմատավորվի այդ գիտակցումը։ Շնորհակալ եմ, որ դուք կաք, որ այդքան նվիրված եք ձեր Հայրենիքին և պատրաստ եք օժանդակել նրա հզորացմանը։ Ակնկալում եմ բոլորիդ անհատական և միասնական աջակցությունը։

And from the bottom of my heart I propose you to raise a glass for Armenia, for the Netherlands and for the great future of Armenian-Dutch partnership. Thank you and cheers.
