Ambassador of Armenia meets the President of the Netherlands’ Senate

On December 20th Ambassador Tigran Balayan was received by Ankie Broekens-Knol, the President of the Senate of the Netherlands.

The President of The Senate warmly recalled her visit to Armenia, where she had the opportunity to discover better a country with ancient civilisation and unique culture.

Expressing his gratitude for the meeting to President Broekens-Knol, Ambassador Balayan presented to her the developments in Armenia taken place after Velvet revolution, the results of December 9th snap parliamentary elections, the implemented and futures steps and reforms of the Government, which enjoys a wide popular mandate.

Tigran Balayan praised the importance of the parliamentary diplomacy, mutual visits of members of legislative bodies and cooperation on bilateral and multilateral tracks, as a prerequisite for deepening of people to people contacts and enhancement relations between the states.

The two exchanged views on expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation, and establishment of contacts between the staffs the Armenian and Dutch Parliaments.

The President of the Senate and the Ambassador touched upon prospects of enhancement of bilateral cooperation in different fields. Ankie Broekens-Knol expressed her support to initiatives to that end.
