The exhibition “Under the Spell of Ararat” as a key point during the meetings in Assen

On 25 April ambassador Tigran Balayan, accompanied by a member of the Armenian community of Assen, Mr. Nicolay Romashuk- Hayrapetyan, had meetings in the northern provinces of the Netherlands, Groningen and Drenthe. These meetings were organized in the context of the opening of the exhibition “Under the Spell of Ararat: treasures from Ancient Armenia” in the Drents Museum.

During the meeting with the king’s commissioner in Groningen, Mr. René Paas, the possibilities of applying the Dutch experience of provincial governance in Armenia were discussed. Touching upon the exhibition in the Drents Museum, the interlocutors agreed that it will have a huge impetus in increasing the visibility and attractiveness of Armenia as a tourist destination.

The mayor of Assen, Mr. Marco Out, and the Ambassador discussed several topics, related to the organizational activities and other events in the city connected with the exhibition.

Later on, Mr. Balayan visited and met the director of the museum, Harry Tupan, and other leading staff members of the museum. After a discussion, the Aambassador learned more about the building process of exhibition rooms and the activities around the solemn opening ceremony of the exhibition.
