Screening of the film "The Desire to Live" in Haarlem

On July 13, the screening of "The Desire to Live", a documentary directed by Mariam Avetisyan, was held at the "Pletterij" club of debates and culture in Haarlem, which was attended by a number of public and political figures, political scientists and representatives of the scientific community and Armenian community organisations. The film shows the humanitarian consequences of the Azerbaijani aggression unleashed in 2020 against Artsakh on its people.

The director of the film, Mariam Avetisyan told the audience about the motives behind the creation of the documentary and the perception of the film in different countries.

After the screening of the film, a discussion with Harry van Bommel, former vice-chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Tweede Kamer and Tigran Balayan, Ambassador of Armenia was held, moderated by the former spokesman for foreign affairs of the D66 party, Ambassador Jan Hoekema.

During the discussion, the clarification of the status of Artsakh, the importance of the format of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship, the possible mechanisms of curbing the genocidal ambitions of Azerbaijan, the soonest repatriation of Armenian prisoners of war and a number of other issues related to the Nagorno Karabakh issue were discussed.
