The Ambassador – designate of Armenia met with the Director of the European Department at the Dutch MFA

On November 12, Tigran Balayan, Ambassador – designate of Armenia in the Netherlands, met with the Director of the European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Netherlands, Rob Zaagman.

During the meeting, Ambassador –designate Balayan presented ongoing internal political developments in Armenia, steps taken to strengthen democracy and its institutions, the fight against corruption, the increasing role of civil society, reinforcement of human rights protection and elimination of economic monopolies.

Tigran Balayan and Rob Zaagman discussed a number of bilateral issues. The two emphased the necessity of high-level political dialogue between Armenia and the Netherlands. They highlighted stressed the need of full realization of the economic potential between the countries. In this context, Ambassador-designate Balayan presented the initiatives of the Armenian Embassy to promote Armenian-Dutch multilayer cooperation Relations between the EU and Armenia were touched upon during the meeting.
