Armenian Ambassador meets with Mayor of Almelo

On the 5th of December, the Armenian Ambassador Tigran Balayan met with Arjen Gerritsen, mayor of the Dutch city with the biggest population of Armenians, Almelo. An Armenian member of the City Council of Almelo, Robin Hayk Gelici, was also present on the meeting.

Ambassador Balayan was happy to have the first meeting with a Mayor of Dutch city, where many of Armenians in the Netherlands live. Balayan expressed gratitude to the mayor for the caring attitude towards the Armenian community.

The mayor of Almelo mentioned that he is proud of Armenian citizens, who for decades have made an important contribution to the development of the city.

Cooperation prospects between one of the cities of Armenia and Almelo, different issues related to activities of the Armenian community were discussed during the meeting.

In addition, Ambassador Balayan also met with Armenian businessmen and presented them Armenia's investment prospects and the benefits of engaging in entrepreneurial activity there. It was agreed to organize a business visit to Armenia.
