On January 23, the Armenian delegation participating in 48th International Film Festival of Rotterdam was hosted by the Embassy of Armenia to the Netherlands and the “La Maison D'Armeni” Fashion House. The members of the Armenian delegation headed by Harutyun Khachatryan, President of the Cinematographers' Union of Armenia and Shushanik Mirzakhanyan, Director of the National Cinema Center, met with the members of the local Armenian community and Dutch artists at the “La Maison D'Armeni” Fashion House.

Greeting the audience, Tigran Balayan, Ambassador of Armenia to the Netherlands, emphasized that 14 years ago he first visited Rotterdam due to Harutyun Khachatryan on the occasion of cooperation between the International Film Festival of Rotterdam and Golden Apricot. Ambassador Balayan pointed out that Armenia's participation in this significant film festival, which will be launched by the screening of shots of the “Color of Pomigranate” by Parajanov is symbolic. The Ambassador of Armenia thanked the founders of “La Maison d'Armeni” for hosting the event and filling it with bright colors and warmth.

Harutyun Khachatryan, President of the Cinematographers' Union, in his speech underlined that the auditorium of the Rotterdam Film Festival is long-familiar with Armenia and Armenian cinema, and to that end Parajanov and his works will be discussed for several days. Mr. Khachatryan presented the important mission of the National Cinema Center of Armenia.

Shushanik Mirzakhanyan, Head of the National Cinema Center of Armenia, presented some details of the program of events dedicated to Parajanov within the framework of the Rotterdam Film Festival and the materials provided by the cinema center.

Armeni Tovmasyan, the artistic Director of the “La Maison D'Armeni” Fashion House, mentioned in her speech that her family had a unique opportunity to host Armenian and Dutch artists on the occasion of a major cultural event in Rotterdam and expressed confidence that “La Maison D'Armeni” will implement more ambitious projects in cooperation with Armenian artists.
