Ambassador's meeting with SGP leader

On March 4, Tigran Balayan, Ambassador of Armenia to the Netherlands, met with Kees van der Straaij, SGP leader and the Chairman of the parliamentary faction of the party.

Expressing gratitude for the meeting, Ambassador Balayan highlighted the role of parliamentary diplomacy in the expansion of bilateral cooperation and presented initiatives aimed at deepening ties between Armenia and the Netherlands.

Ambassador Balayan briefed the SGP leader on the large-scale reforms in Armenia, stressing the importance of the support of democratic countries.

During the meeting the sides exchanged views on the issues related to the Dutch-Armenian community. In that regards, the SGP leader highly assessed the integration of the Dutch-Armenian community into the public life of the Netherlands.

Tigran Balayan briefly presented the current situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, stressing Armenia's principled stance on the absence of an alternative to the peaceful settlement of the conflict.
