Ambassador’s visit to Groningen

On March 21, T. Balayan, Ambassador of Armenia to the Netherlands, visited Groningen,
where he had a meeting with Peter den Oudsten, Mayor of the city. During the meeting, the Ambassador talked about the large-scale reforms currently being undertaken in Armenia and pointed out the importance of support from partner countries of Armenia in those initiatives and reforms.

Possibilities of decentralized cooperation between Armenia and the Netherlands and
collaboration in the fields of informational technologies and education were further discussed during the meeting.
Ambassador T. Balayan was also welcomed in the University of Groningen, one of the oldest universities in Europe, where he met with Marjolein Nieboer, Director of the Library.
Armenian Ambassador donated to the library more than fifty books on significant Armenian issues and Armenians living in the Netherlands both in English and Dutch.

Later on, T. Balayan delivered a lecture on internal and foreign affairs of Armenia to
approximately forty students of the department of International Relations.
During his speech and while answering to the questions of students, the Ambassador gave an outline on the reforms implemented in Armenia and on their possible outcomes, the priorities for the Republic of Armenia in its foreign affairs and its relations with neighbouring countries.
