Armenian-Dutch business seminar in the dairy industry was held in the Netherlands

The delegation headed by Tigran Gabrielyan, the Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, was in the Netherlands on September 25-26, at the initiative of the Dutch Enterprise Agency, within the framework of the Dutch-Armenian cooperation expansion project in the dairy industry. The delegation included Vahe Mambreyan, Head of AM Partners and Gagik Sardaryan, Director of CARD.

The members of the delegation met with representatives of the Dutch Investment Bank, as well as representatives of the dairy companies of Friesland.

On September 26, a business seminar was held in Heerenveen with the participation of about three dozen large Dutch companies of the dairy industry. The aim of the seminar was to present a comprehensive report on the potential of Armenia and dairy production sector of Dutch companies by consulting firm BLES Dairies.

The participants of the seminar were welcomed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Netherlands Tigran Balayan. Expressing gratitude to the authors of the initiative and all the parties assisting in its implementation, the Dutch Enterprise Agency, the former Dutch Ambassador to Armenia Jos Daumai, the Agricultural Advisor to the Embassy of the Netherlands Meus Brewer, BLES Dairies Technical Director Martin de Jong, Ambassador emphasized that this initiative is a wonderful opportunity to introduce Dutch businessmen the benefits of doing investments in the dairy industry in Armenia. Adding that the dairy industry is one of the key sectors of Armenia's agriculture, he noted that Armenia's geographical position and geopolitical situation open serious prospects for Dutch businessmen to access inaccessible markets through Armenia.

RA Deputy Minister of Economy Tigran Gabrielyan delivered a comprehensive speech on the Armenian dairy industry, state policy in the field of agriculture and promotion programs.

Opportunities for Armenian dairy industry and Dutch companies were presented by the author of the report Martin de Jong. Gagik Sardaryan, Director of CARD Agribusiness and Rural Development Center, also spoke about the advantages of investing in dairy industry in Armenia and the importance of exchange of experience.

Jan Duksen, Coordinator of Armenian Programs at PUM Dutch compamny, presented their experience of over 15 years of effective work in Armenia, and a representative of the Dutch Enterprise Agency informed the participants about the financial support tools provided by the Agency when investing in Armenia.

In the second part of the seminar, the members of the Armenian delegation and the Dutch authors of the report answered a number of questions of Dutch businessmen, concerning to the procedure of investments in Armenia , Armenia's financial market and professional issues related to the dairy industry.

The initiative is ongoing, and the representatives of Armenian dairy companies are expected to visit the Netherlands in November.
