Ambassador Tigran Balayan participated in the conference initiated by the West-East Bridges Foundation

On 19 July, Ambassador Tigran Balayan participated in the youth conference organized by the West-East Bridges Foundation for the Eastern Partnership countries and EU member states, which was attended by young people representing Armenia, Germany, Spain, Greece, the Netherlands, Latvia, Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine.

During the conference, the ambassadors of Armenia, Georgia and Moldova delivered speeches, presenting the main issues and priorities of their countries in the fields of foreign policy and security, the visions of conflict resolution, the impact of the COVID-19 on their countries, the experience of overcoming the consequences of the pandemic.

In his speech, the Ambassador of Armenia referred to the Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh, unleashed during the COVID-19 pandemic, presented its root causes and consequences, blatant violations of human rights and international humanitarian law.

Ambassador Balayan presented the efforts of the Armenian authorities to establish an atmosphere of peace in the region, underlining that dialogue and perception of the position of the other side are important in the process of conflict resolution.

After the speeches, the ambassadors answered many questions raised by the participants.
