Reception in honor of Catholicos Aram I in the Netherlands

On October 1, on the occasion of the visit of Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I to the Netherlands a reception was held at the residence of the Ambassador of Lebanon on the initiative of the Embassies of Armenia and Lebanon to the Netherlands. The reception was attended by Ambassadors accredited in The Hague, representative of the Apostolic Armenian Church to Western Europe, Archbishop Khazhak Barsamyan, Archbishop of Utrecht Catholic Church, heads of Religious Organizations in the Netherlands, Dutch Foreign Ministry senior officials and members of Councils of the Armenian Apostolic Churches.

Greeting Catholicos Aram and attendees, the ambassadors of Armenia and Lebanon Tigran Balayan and Abdel Satar Isa highlighted the importance of the event, noting that the high priest represents the Armenian Apostolic Church and Lebanon in its diversity.

The ambassador of Armenia emphasized in his speech that the Armenian people are grateful to Lebanese people for hosting our compatriots rescued from the Genocide and providing them favorable conditions for life and national ascent, considering that it is symbolic that as a result of all these in the 1930s The Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia was established in Antelias.

Expressing gratitude for the event, Aram I stressed that the organization of the joint event by the Ambassadors of Armenia and Lebanon symbolizes the two countries' interdependence, partnership, and peacekeeping mission.

Armenian wine and Lebanese food were served to the participants of the reception.
