Visit of Armenian and Dutch Ambassadors to Eindhoven

On July 13, H.E. Mr. Tigran Balayan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and H.E. Mr. Nico Schermers, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Armenia, visited the city of Eindhoven in the North Brabant province of the Netherlands, which is known as an industrial and technological hub.

In Eindhoven Ambassador Balayan and Ambassador Schermers, accompanied by Mr. Willly van de Kerkhof, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Eindhoven, visited the headquarters of VDL Agrotech Concern, where they met with Mr. Brian Van Hooff, CEO of VDL Agrotech and Mr. Maurice Kerens, Director of Holland Trade Support. During the meeting a comprehensive discussion was held on the activities of the VDL Agrotech concern, the current and forthcoming programs implemented in the field of agriculture in Armenia, as well as the opportunities for further deepening and expansion of cooperation. Expressing satisfaction with regard to the establishment of the Dutch Embassy in Armenia and the effective cooperation with the Armenian Embassy in the Netherlands, the representatives of Dutch companies emphasized the role of diplomatic missions in promoting trade and economic ties.

Then the ambassadors T. Balayan և N ․ Schermers visited DAF trucks, where they exchanged views on the company's activities with Jos Smetsers, Executive Director PACCAR Purchasing Europe, as well as discussed the new opportunities for the company to enter the markets of Armenia and other EEU countries.

During the meetings, Ambassador Balayan emphasized that the main mission of the Office of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Eindhoven is to present opportunities for economic activity in Armenia and the promote the bilateral economic cooperation within the regional business circles.
