Reception dedicated to the 34th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia was organized in The Hague

06 October, 2025

On October 6, a reception dedicated to the 34th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia was organized in The Hague.

At the outset, Ambassador Viktor Biyagov delivered his remarks, highlighting the irrefutable role of independence and peace in establishing a stable and developing future for Armenia.

Ambassador reiterated Armenia’s commitment to democratic values, underscoring the role of international partners, especially the Government of the Netherlands, in this path.

Viktor Biyagov emphasised the historical importance of initialling of the Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the TRIPP project, for the prosperity of the entire region.

The Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership between Armenia and the Netherlands, signed in March 2025, was also acknowledged as a crucial milestone on the path of constant development of Armenia-Netherlands bilateral relations. The declaration serves as a blueprint for further promoting cooperation in multiple sectors.

The evening was attended by representatives of the Dutch state institutions, members of the Parliament, high-ranking representatives of different international organisations based in The Hague, members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Netherlands, representatives of the Armenian community and other guests.

In the cultural part of the event, a show of Armenian national costumes designed by the Teryan Cultural Centre was presented, with the participation of youth from the Abovyan Union in The Hague. It was accompanied by pianists Aylin Vardanyan, Adam Akopian and Meline Yeghoyan.
